Wine Tasting
October 2018
This year the tasting included great German wines (we drive great German cars, right?). German wines, primarily from Rheingau and Mosel regions (much like Napa and Sonoma for the US) will be tasted. Some of the wines were from notable German wineries, established around 1100 AD. We also tasted some fantastic Pinot Noir, red blends, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah/Petite Sirah, and Zinfandel.

LEISURELY MYSTERY DRIVE AND DINE IN May
May 2018
The May Mystery Drive & Dine took the adventurers to The Hen & The Hog Restaurant in historic downtown Halifax, NC in an old & interesting renovated hardware store building. After lunch the group motored a few blocks to the Halifax Visitors Center to take in a museum tour highlighting the times of the past in Halifax including where in 1776 the “Halifax Resolves’ were signed making it the first legislation of any colony to recommend independence from England. Great group, fine cars, and a good time had by all.

Drive Toward A Cure
April 2018
This scenic back road drive fundraiser for Parkinson’s started at Leith Porsche in Cary at 10:00 am and ended at the PikNPig BarBQ at the ‘off the beaten track’ Carthage airport. Once we had our fill of watching small aircraft takeoff and land while enjoying some of the greatest BBQ that NC has to offer, for those willing to continue were back onto the back roads to Southern Peak Brewery in Apex for a local brew (or two) to cap off the afternoon!
Although the drive itself was free, the cost of participation was a donation of $50 (minimum) per person towards the ‘Drive Towards a Cure‘ Parkinson’s cause. Additional donations may be made at: www.drivetowardacure.org/account/donate.vbhtml) 100% deductible.
We're happy to report that we raised $2,150 from 32 participants, driving 22 cars, including a Lotus Europa!

Tech Session
February 2018
A Tech Session was held on Saturday Feb 3 to see the installation of new electric spoiler lifts on Kevin Heimbaugh's 996 turbo (www.rennkit.com). I realize that a lot of people may not be interested in 996 turbo spoilers, so in addition, we had two of our members on hand with their Durametric Pro Porsche diagnostic tool (www.durametric.com) for attendees to use to look at information on their own cars.
In order to provide even more of a draw, we hosted the event at The Daily Pint a craft beer bar near the Angus Barn where they had an indoor facility for the spoiler Tech Session, and plenty of outdoor space for use of the Durametric tools.

Holiday Party
January 2018
We celebrated the awesome year we've had together, and found out who won the Golden Clamp Award! We celebrated at the Alumni Center at NC State and had a block of rooms at the brand new StateView hotel next door. The event started in the grand foyer with hors d'oeuvres and cash bar. We shared in the camaraderie, reconnected with friends, and enjoyed the festivities.
